Batch 1996-Blakeley’s Motorcare now has the most number of wins in the season after it blasted Batch 2006-1st ACY Shipping Corp./Cebu Regal Pension House, 91-71, last Tuesday in the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association (Cecaba) 14th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup at the CEC Gym.
Batch 1996 had five players scoring in double figures, banking on a balanced attack to bag its eighth win in 10 games.
The win pushed Batch 1996 to second spot in the teams standings, trailing the league-leading Batch 1999-BMC Hospital Systems/Hainanese Delights, who are still unbeaten in seven games.
Seven of the Batch 1996 scorers ended up scoring in double figures with Rex Allinson leading the way with 17 points. Rogelio Donayre Jr. and Shawn Wang each finished with 16 points, Bryan Renejane added 15 markers, while Dreyfuss Ang had 13.
Gino Abella finished with a game-high 32 markers, Jermaine Nuñez scored 12 and Ralph Yap had 12 in Batch 2006’s eighth loss in nine games.
In the other games, Batch 1997-Solane iStyle improved to 4-4 (win-loss) after dispatching Batch 1998-Kaking, 55-50.
Timothie Tan paced Batch 1997 with 14 points, while Aubrey Jones Ibones added 10.
