AROUND eight thousand people in color-coded shirts joined the Walk, Run, and Roll for All of the Cebu City Sports Commission (CCSC) and the Cebu City Government yesterday at Block 27 in the North Reclamation Area.

The event, which started at dawn, was held in line with the Labor Day Celebration and is inspired by the theme: “Disenteng Trabaho at  Kabuhayan, Alay Natin Sa Bayan.”

Participants joined either the 5.765-kilometer bike route, 2.926-km walk route or the 3.924-km run route.

The event was the perfect opportunity for CCSC officials to meet people who could support their programs.

“The event went out very, very well. I’ve met police director Mariano Batiancila and agreed that we’ll institutionalize our partnership rescue program with streetkids,” CCSC chairman Edward Hayco said. “And we’ve also agreed to implement mechanisms to ensure it will go beyond our time.”
