A doctor at Pasay City General Hospital allegedly stuffed a 16-year-old patient’s mouth with sanitary napkin while giving birth on Monday.

In a report by Ruel Perez of Radyo Inquirer on Thursday, 33-year-old Elsa Abello, mother of the pregnant teen, said her daughter was crying and shouting in pain while delivering the baby when the attending physician placed a sanitary napkin inside her mouth.

Abello identified the doctor as “Dra. Liza.”

The patient also experienced verbal abuse from the doctors of the said hospital while giving birth, Abello added.

In addition to formal complaints at the Philippine Medical Association and the Professional Regulation Commission, Abello is also eyeing to file a case against “Dra. Liza” and the management of the Pasay hospital for supposedly violating Republic Act 7610, or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
