A rookie policeman was accused of threatening to shoot his neighbor in baragay Polambato, Bogo City, northern Cebu last Tuesday night.

PO1 Gigi Bateancila Villegas, 31, was drunk when he went to his neighbor’s house  in sitio Tabla.

Villegas was detained then later released after apologizing for his behavior.

Villegas is assigned at the Regional Public Safety Battalion in Santa Catalina, Negros Oriental.

The complainant, Jerry Abayon dela Cerna, said he was outside the policeman’s house calling for his grandchildren to go home when Villegas confronted him.

“Don’t make so much  noise or I will shoot you,” said dela Cerna, quoting the policeman.

The complainant  did not see Villegas carrying a gun at the time, said PO3 Elymar Mendoza, investigator of the Bogo City Police Station.

Dela Cerna said he asked Villegas to calm down but the policeman continued harassing him. At that point,  dela Cerna sought the help of the police.
