The “I See Kids Tours” project of the Dolores Aboitiz Children’s Fund (DACF) brought children to the two tourist destinations in Cebu — barangay Mantalongon, also known as the ‘Little Baguio and vegetable basket’ in Dalaguete town, southern Cebu and Bojo River in Aloguinsa town, northwest Cebu.

Through the DACF, the children got to visit Mantalongon last April 19 and Bojo River on April 23.

The Mantalongon tour engaged the children, who were accompanied by their parents and tour guides, in a trek to Manguerra Log Cabin for a session of songs and games and up to Osmeña Peak, where the  participants enjoyed activities such as archery, berry picking and carabao riding.

The children then returned to the log cabin to draw their experience in an art session using papers and crayons. The tour guide also told the kids a local story.

In Aloguinsan, the Bojo river cruise enabled the children and their parents to appreciate different types of mangroves and  bird species. The tour guide also facilitated a storytelling session about the story of Maria Tang-an, the enchantress of Bojo River. The children also offered floating baskets of flowers to the enchantress before they went swimming.

In partnership with local community organizations, the I See Kids Tours of the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc.’s DACF offers educational activities that promote positive child development.
