Ycong wins Tabuelan triathlon

JORRY Ycong was crowned the new king of the annual Tabuelan 111 Triathlon.

This after Ycong finished the grueling one-kilometer swim, 88k bike run and 21k half-marathon race in four hours, 30 minutes and 16 seconds in Tabuelan town, northern Cebu yesterday.

The win was Ycong’s second in local races this year. He also topped  the 80/80 Triathlon held last month in Sogod town, north  Cebu.

Fast rising triathlete Emmanuel Comendador grabbed second place with a time of four hours, 35 minutes and 18 seconds while Ralph Arce rounded off the top three finishers with a time of 4:46.23.

In the relay division, Three of Me-Race.ph emerged winners with a time of 4:22.15 while Tricore finished second (4:47.30) and Trimac at third (5:16.44).

One of Cebu’s top female triathletes, Lorhiz Echavez-Lopez, meanwhile, dominated the female 30-39 years old division with a time of 5:59.03.

Results in other divisions were not available at press time.
