CBM awards outstanding swimmers

TEAM CEBU City-Cebu Blue Marlin (CBM) Swimming Club awarded its most outstanding and bemedalled swimmers during its Annual Swimming Culminating Activity held last Sunday at Estaca Bay Resort in Liloan town, northern Cebu.

For several years, CBM has dominated the field of swimming as seen by the number of competitions its swimmers have won in and out of Cebu.

Coach Rolando Alvarez gave out trophies to the following swimmers for their excellent performances in the sport: Michael Ichiro Kong, Karen Mae Indaya, Romylin Nina Ignacio, Justine Reign Garrido, Mike Gabrielle Dela Serna, Quintin Zee Sabalande, Justin Christopher Yu, Jobert Indaya, Matthew Angelo Caneda, Jan Nino Rosales, Jonhlo Recilla, and Rafael John Dacaldacal. Trophies are also given to the following swimmers who excelled in the 1st Panaad Swimfest in Bacolod: Isabella Marie Diehl, Mary Pauline Indaya, Denise Shane Dinopol, Moira Frances Gabrielle Erediano, Maria Michaella Recilla, Christine Angeli Yu, Bencynth Ghail Luage, Micah Marie Dela Serna, Trina Caneda, Hannah Galo and Tanya Sy.

Over 60 swimmers under CBM were given certificates of different types depending on their individual performances.

Coach Alvarez told CEBU DAILY NEWS that the swimming club is preparing for upcoming swimming competitions.

Among the events are the Sandugo Novice and Advance Age Group Swimfest in Tagbilaran City, Bohol on July 25 and 26 and the 114 Silliman Founder’s Day Age Group Swimming Meet at the Shaw Memorial Swimming Pool in Dumaguete City on Aug. 21 and 22.

CBM will also be training for the upcoming Visayas Regional Finals of the Milo Little Olympics scheduled in September in Iloilo City.
