The upcoming Pinoy Pride 32 in Dubai, UAE was supposed to be headlined by the hugely popular Pagara brothers.

Instead, only one of them will be showcasing his boxing skills in the gleaming desert emirate on August 7 in a card expected to be as big if not bigger than its predecessor held there last September at the Dubai World Trade Center.

ALA Promotions International announced yesterday that the card will not include Jason Pagara (35-2, 22KOs), the older of the fighting siblings and the reigning WBO International super lightweight champion.

Left to carry the load of the card on his shoulders will be the younger Pagara – Prince Albert 923-0, 16KOs) the reigning IBF intercontinental super bantamweight champion.

Taking the place of Jason Pagara according to Philboxing.com, will be former world title challenger AJ “Bazooka” Banal (33-2-1, 22KOs).

Banal already fought for the world title twice but lost both times. He is currently blazing the comeback trail having won his last five bouts.

ALA Promotions chief Michael Aldeguer said that the opponents of the three Filipino pugs in PP32 will be announced soon.

The August 7 spectacle which will be held in conjunction with broadcast giant ABS-CBN and The Filipino Channel (TFC) will be held at a bigger venue still inside the Dubai World Trade Center.

Last year’s desert boxing card featured ALA boxers, Genesis “Azukal” Servania, Rey “Boom-Boom” Bautista and “King” Arthur Villanueva who battled and won over tough Mexican opponents.

Meanwhile, veteran Jimrex Jaca (39-8-6, 22KOs) will also be included in Pinoy Pride 32.

The hard-hitting southpaw and Banal are expected to give added lure for their Middle East boxing fans.
