THE University of San Carlos Cebuano Studies Center will hold its first-ever literary tour in Carcar on June 21.

This is sponsored by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts to promote local literary heritage in Cebu.

Carcar Literatour is an opportunity to visit the homes of famous writers, the places mentioned in the short stories and narratives set in Tuyom and the barrio of Valladolid.

The city’s writers on exhibit at the Carcar City museum are Brigido Alfar, Maria Kabigon, Sinforosa Alcordo, Vicente Alcoseba, Epifanio Alfafara, Marcel Navarra, Vicente Alcover, Diosdado Alesna, Galileo Varga, Filomeno Dayanan, Bonifacio Deiparine and Juanito Alcordo, among others.

One of the highlights of the event is a lecture on the tradition of the linambay at the audio-visual room of St. Catherine’s College.

The tour will also showcase demonstrations on how Carcar delicacies are made.
