Polyfloor drubs Elastogel in Davies Cup

POLYFLOOR kicked off the second round of the eliminations with yet another victory after they thrashed the Elastogel, 85-74, in the Architects + Engineers Basketball Association 1st Davies Cup on Sunday at the Cebu Eastern College gym.

The usual suspects stepped up for the league-leaders as Malvin Malicdem paced the winners with 27 points, seven rebounds, four assists and four steals while Loriniel Tequin added a huge double-double of 17  markers and 14 boards topped off by five assists and four blocks. The victory was Polyfloor’s fifth in six games.

In other games, Stay Clean remained in close second with a 92-86 win over Fusion.

Prolific wingman Mike Cinco exploded for 35 points and 11 rebounds while JR Partosa waxed hot from beyond rainbow country, draining five en route to tallying 20 markers.

Stay Clean improved to 4-2 (win-loss) while Fusion dropped to an even 3-3, the same record as Elastogel.

Aquagloss notched its very first win of the competition after they upset Acreex, 78-68. Paul Sasan presided over the win with an incredible scoring burst of 39 points that lifted Aquagloss’ record to 1-5 while dropping Acreex to 2-4.

The top four teams at the end of the double round-robin eliminations will advance to the semifinals with the top two finishers getting a twice-to-beat advantage.
