MULTI-TITLED Cebuana swimmer Loren Dale Echavez will be representing the Philippines in the upcoming World University Games swimming competition on July 3 to 14 in Gwangju, Korea.

Joining Echavez in the event are fellow University of San Carlos (USC) swimmers Pia Angelyka Cardinal, Keith Ocampo, Lister Tungala and Cynthjune Goden.

Echavez said she is training hard for the upcoming international swimming tournament.

“Aside from my regular swim sessions, I’m also doing strength training,” Echavez said.

Echavez is a BS Biology graduate of the University of San Carlos and is currently taking up BS Physical Education as her second course in the same school. She is trained by coach Augusto Bonilla.
Echavez told Cebu Daily News that aside from preparing herself physically,  she’s also trying to prepare herself mentally.

The World University Games is an international multi-sport event organized for university athletes by the International University Sports Federation (FISU), and is  a biennial event that features  both summer and winter sports.
