DIVISION 1 powerhouse squads 1985 Androids-Aceite de Manzanilla and 1993 Dragons advanced to the semifinals of the University of San Carlos North Alumni Basketball Conference Summer League after they dispatched their opponents in the quarterfinals over the weekend at the USC North Campus gym along Mango Avenue.

As always, the Androids banked on the timeless talents of former pro Lou Regidor and Bing Pua to nab a 92-75 win over the 1984 Knights.

Regidor tallied 36 points while Pua notched 20 to push the Androids closer to the crown.

Not to be outdone, the Dragons leaned on their balanced attack to topple the Bro 1987, 88-57.

Harold Toledo, John Soon and Eduardo Banaag scored 12 apiece to help the Dragons roast their opponents.

However, two teams gained a new lease on life as they extended their match-ups to a winner-take-all game. Bai 91 beat the 1988 Barakos, 61-53, while the 1986 Mighty Geeks clobbered the 1990 Titans-Modern Solutions, 96-67.

Arturo Mata and Francisco Matugas spearheaded the Mighty Geeks with 31 and 27 points, respectively.

In Division 2, the 1994 Bulldogs, the 1999ers and the 2001 DosMilUno made short work of their opponents to advance to the next round. The Bulldogs edged the 1996 Chubbies, 69-66, the 1999ers

blasted the 1995 Pirates, 98-75, while the DosMilUno routed the 1997 Ronins, 80-60.

Sipat ‘98, on the other hand, extended their season with a 69-63 decision over the Millennium 2000.

In Division 3, the reigning champions 2011 Elevens and the 2006 Fury booked their places in the semis after the former ousted the 2003 Stallions, 75-54, while the latter eliminated the 2002 Vikings, 90-69.

The 2010 Pioneers and the 2004 Rebels though sent their respective match-ups to a deciding game with a 90-74 win over the 2007 Dosmilsiete, and an 81-69 win over the 2005 Chameleons, respectively.
