ANOTHER set of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) hopefuls will strut their wares today in the “Bakbakan sa Sugbo” amateur MMA fight card to be held at the Cebu City Sports Institute in Sawang Calero, Cebu City.
The fight card will feature 10-year old Batang Pinoy 2014 Muay Thai gold medalist Ken “Shaolin” Caniga who will take on Diether “Jet” Sanchez in a kick boxing match.
According to Caniga’s uncle, Master Benigno “Ekin” Caniga Jr., this will serve as Ken’s tune-up bout as part of his preparation for the Batang Pinoy Regional Finals later this year.
Ken Caniga’s teammate Josh “Buffalo” Ybañez will fight Benedict Torbiso in the undercard.
Rodel Valisado of Unifed MMA and Johniel Castro of Tatus MMA will provide the MMA action in the card which will also include five other MMA bouts in the event co-organized by YawYan ArDigma Cebu Martial Arts Federation and the Cebu City Sports Commission (CCSC)./REPORTER GLENDALE G. ROSAL
