CEBUANO June Mar Fajardo of San Miguel Beer looks headed to another successful season as he currently leads the Most Valuable Player (MVP) race in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).

The 6-foot-10 center from Pinamungajan, Cebu leads the cumulative statistical points standings at the end of the Governors’ Cup semifinal round.

After 50 games played in three conferences, Fajardo has garnered an average of 37.1 statistical points (SP), way ahead of second placer Jayson Castro of Talk ‘N Text who has 29.09 SP and fellow Cebuano big man Greg Slaughter of Barangay Ginebra who has 29.07 SP.

Should Fajardo win the MVP plum, it will be his second straight as he also won the top individual honor in 2014.

The former University of Cebu center Fajardo, who helped San Miguel to its second finals appearance this season, is also leading the race for the Best Player of the Conference award for  the Governors’ Cup with an average of 17.8 points per game, 11.6 rebounds per game and 1.2 blocks per game.
