A student from Cebu Technological University (CTU) won first place in the first mural painting competition organized by the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) last Tuesday in Camp Sotero Cabahug on Gorordo Avenue, Cebu City.

First place winner Daniel Villadolid II received P7,000  and certificate, while second placer Jude Balberos pocketed P5,000. Third placer Lyle Anga took home P3,000. All the winners are from CTU.

Non-winners received a consolation prize of P1,000 each.

The contest is one of the activities lined up for the 20th Police Community Relations Month with the theme: “Matibay na Ugnayan ng Mamamayan at Pulisya Simbolo ng Kapayapaan at Kaunlaran ng Sambayanan.”

At least 20 students and policemen joined the competition – six from the University of San Carlos (USC), 12 from CTU and two from CCPO led by Police Community Relations chief Superintendent Enrique Belciña.

The contestants painted the left side walls of the camp’s entrance.

“Our purpose of this mural contest is not only to beautify the camp but also to showcase the talents of the students and our PNP personnel,” said Belciña.

“We plan to conduct this mural contest again but this time on the right side walls of CCPO entrance, near Colegio de la Inmaculada Concepcion,” said Belciña.  /Palompon Institute of Technology Intern Jay-Ileen Engalla
