Forum urges LGUs to enroll in Kalahi

LOCAL chief executives and representatives of the different municipalities in Central Visayas recently attended a forum on Kapit Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (Kalahi-CIDSS).

Participants were given the chance to enroll in the Kalahi-CIDSS program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development in Central Visayas which targets to involve communities in participatory planning, implementation, and management of local development activities.

Kalahi-CIDSS Deputy Regional Program manager Macrino Sumagang oriented the participants about the program and presented the local counterpart contribution to be provided by the local government units.

Regional Community Development Specialist Helen Ybañez presented the necessary documents for the enrolment to Kalahi-CIDSS, while Amante Sabangan discussed the specific arrangements of the memorandum of agreement.

Participants were from the municipalities of Batuan, Corella, Cortes, Dagohoy, Dauis, Duero, Garcia Hernandez, Panglao, Sierra Bullones, and Sikatuna in Bohol; Alcantara, Alegria, Aloguinsan, Argao, Badian, Boljoon, Malabuyoc, Moalboal, Oslob, Pinamungahan, and Ronda in Cebu; and Maria and San Juan in Siquijor. /PR – UP Cebu Intern Patricia Bayno
