The University of San Carlos (USC) kept their unbeaten slate after they demolished the University of the Visayas (UV), 52-26, in the SBP class of the Milo-backed BEST Tournament on Saturday at the Ateneo de Cebu basketball court along Mango Avenue in Cebu City.
UV started out hot and led, 10-7, but USC dominated the rest of the way en route to winning its third straight game.
Nicael Cabanero sparked the breakaway by scoring six in the second canto that ended with the Baby Warriors holding an 18-12 lead. Reinhard Jumamoy then chipped in, adding nine in the third that spurred USC to a 27-17 lead.
The aforementioned duo then connived for 19 in a decisive run in the final frame that paved the way for the lopsided win.
Jumamoy and Cabanero topped with 16 points each.
Karl Cua led UV, which fell to an even 1-1 (win-loss), with seven points.
