After visiting barangays in Lapu-Lapu City and Cebu City on Sunday, Vice President Jejomar Binay dropped by Toledo City on the second day of his Cebu visit.
He met met with residents of barangay Camp 8 in the midwest city of Toledo, and distributed rosary bracelets to senior citizens.
The day before, the vice president joined a “boodle fight” or communal meal with mayoral aspirant Angel Rodriguez in barangay Punta Engaño, Lapu-Lapu City.
In a press conference held hours earlier, Binay continued to rail against the ongoing investigation by the Senate blue ribbon sub-committee which focused lately on the senior citizens cash gifts which supposedly contained “ghost beneficiaries.”
Rodriguez said he will mobilize more supporters for the vice president but declined to say whether he will run under Binay’s United Nationalist Alliance (UNA).
“Daghan ta og mga suporters ni Binay dinhi sa Lapu-Lapu (We have a lot of supporters for Binay here in Lapu-Lapu),” he said.
He said Binay promised Lapu-Lapu City residents to provide more employment and housing for them if elected president.
