Two Cebu City officials resigned to prepare for their run in next year’s election.

Cebu City Mayor Micheal Rama’s Executive Assistant and former city councilor Joey Daluz will run for councilor in the south district under Team Rama.

Rany Navaro, Cebu City Environment and Natural Resources chief, will also run for south district councilor under the Bando Osmeña-Pundok Kauswagan (BO-PK).

A week after Rama announced his candidates, Daluz said he will have to take a leave of absence from September 1-30 and his resignation will take effect on October 1.

Navaro also filed his leave of absence and is waiting for approval of his early retirement.  Jade Ponce, being the CCENRO assistant head will take over from Navaro.
