CCMC ready to enroll more than 700 indigents with PhilHealth
MORE than 700 slots are still available for indigents wishing to avail of the Cebu City Medical Center’s (CCMC) Point-of-Care program.
CCMC Hospital Administrator Rey Cris Panugaling said they will enroll qualified indigents to secure Philhealth benefits.
About 1,000 slots were allocated to new indigents for enrollment under Philhealth for this year alone.
“In two months alone, from July when we started this program to August, we’ve enrolled 255 indigents through our Point-of-Care program,” he said.
Next year, Panugaling said those indigents enrolled by the city government’s Department of Social Welfare and Services (DSWS) will be assumed by the national government.
Another set of indigents will be enrolled by the CCMC through the POC program.
Panugaling said indigents will be screened to see if they qualify as beneficiaries.
Panugaling said those who have complaints on the hospital’s services should talk to the CCMC management and personnel instead of going to social media.
He said there have been social media posts and even radio commentaries discussing “complaints of some people” such as the theft of oxygen tanks in the hospital’s inventory and the disposal of hospital fluids.
“While we may choose to treat these allegations as malicious, CCMC takes these as challenges to prove to the public even further the brand of health care we deliver and the long way we have come since 2010,” Panugaling said.
He said there will be more improvements in the CCMC, such as a bigger operating room which starts construction on the last quarter of the year.
