JICA reps identify needs in roadmap study

Representatives of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) identified areas that the Mega Cebu Development and Coordinating Board (MCDCB) can improve on in finalizing their roadmap study for development in Metro Cebu.

Yuzurio Susumo, team director of JICA’s urban and regional development group, said there’s a lack of mechanisms for cooperation and coordination among local government units to reconcile projects.

He said there’s also inadequate technical skills and support system to develop Metro Cebu-wide infrastructure and traffic policy.

Susumo said there should be a legally instituted agency to implement projects under the Mega Cebu roadmap study.
