The Division for the Welfare of the Urban Poor (DWUP) of Cebu City assured that the remains at the Doña Pepang Cemetery will not be moved out but will be transferred to a bone chamber.

Yesterday, DWUP held the second consultative meeting with the families affected in the  conversion of the cemetery into a public heritage park.

Around 40 families involved came to the discussion.

DWUP Head Atty. Collin Rosell said the proposed bone chamber can accommodate seven bodies.

Tentative date for the clearing of the cemetery is from October 7 to 10.

The affected families will be transferred to a relocation site in barangay Lorega.
