BARANGAY Garing proved to be the steadier team down the stretch as they hacked out a 67-60 win in over Polog Game One of the best-of-three championship series in the seniors class of the inter-barangay category B of the Mayor Teresa Alegrado Cup 2015 at the Tayud Gym in Consolacion town, Cebu.
Butchoy Pardillo carried Garing to the win as he helped anchor the team’s wire-to-wire win with 26 points.
Pardillo, the leading candidate for the MVP plum in this tournament, helped push Garing to an early 10-2 lead, which stood in spite numerous challenges from Polog, until the final buzzer.
The tournament is made possible through the efforts of sports commission and former Far Eastern University stalwart Paul Alelu Flores and sports chairman Engr. Nilo Ferraren.
