AsPac University Games in Cebu

SIX UNIVERSITIES from different nations are set to battle for supremacy in three sporting events in the Asia Pacific University Games (APUG) on Dec. 4 to 8 in Cebu.

The three sports discipline that will be featured in the APUG are table tennis, basketball and badminton.

APUG aims to promote foster friendship and camaraderie among university athletes from Asia and the Pacific regions.

Leading the list of competitors are the  reigning Cesafi basketball champions University of San Carlos, host University of Cebu, Universiti Teknologi Mara of Malaysia, Nippon Science Sports University of Japan, Korea University Sports Federation and Pupuan Blacks V2 of Papua New Guinea.

Men’s basketball will be sanctioned by the Basketball Association of the Philippines (BAP) spearheaded by Senator Antonio Trillanes IV while badminton and table tennis will be run by the FESSAP Badminton Club and FESSAP Table Tennis Club, respectively.

The opening ceremonies will be held at the Cebu Coliseum.
