Feed the Children treats Pasil kids

April Estopa of Red Cross demonstrates first aid techniques to participants of the Children’s Month celebration at the Don Bosco Youth Center in Pasil, Cebu City.

Nearly 150 children and their parents  gathered at the Don Bosco Youth Center in Pasil, Cebu City recently to celebrate the Universal Children’s Month.

The day- long gathering was organized by Feed the Children and participated in by their scholars from the different depressed areas in Cebu City.

Among the activities conducted were story telling  by Pandoo Foundation, a first aid orientation by the Red Cross, a discussion on “ Understanding Money “ by the Employee Association of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and a poster-making contest facilitated by Mugna Collective’s Melver Mercado, focusing on the theme “Komunidad at Pamahalaan Magkaisa, Pang Aabuso sa Bata Wakasan Na” (Community and Government Unite , Put an End to Child Abuse).

Feed the Children partners like Dunkin Donuts and Julie’s Bakeshop provided snacks to the participants.

Comic books depicting the role of BSP in the Filipino’s lives were also distributed to the children.

A film entitled Hoy Bata, Mahalaga Ka was also shown.

The elementary and high school scholars are supported by Feed the Children through their partners Korea Hope Foundation, Feed the Children Japan, Cebu Employee Association of BSP, Archi Global, Carol Go and the filming crew of Feed the Children Oklahoma.
