Rain or Shine tries to remain perfect
4:15 p.m. – NLEX vs Mahindra
7 p.m. – Rain or Shine vs Global Port
THE RAIN or Shine Elasto Painters will look to remain unbeaten when they tangle with the Global Port Batang Pier today in the 2015 PBA Philippine Cup over at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
With three wins already tucked under their belts, the wards of fiery head coach Yeng Guiao stand atop the league in this all-Filipino conference.
What’s more, the E-Painters have remained undefeated even without star guard Paul Lee, who is still recovering from a knee injury.
Without Lee, several players have stepped up led by Filipino-Nigerian rookie Maverick Ahanmisi, Gilas standout Gabe Norwood and the bruising combo of JR Quinahan and Beau Belga.
But Global Port will be seeking to spoil the party as a win today will forge a three-way tie at second place with Alaska and San Miguel.
Expected to lead the charge for the team mentored by another combustible head coach in Pido Jarencio, are Rookie of the Year Stanley Pringle who tallied 19 points, 17 rebounds and five assists last time out, and his explosive backcourt partner, the scoring dynamo Terrence Romeo, who torched Barako Bull for 21 in their last game.
Also seeking a share of second place is NLEX (2-1) which will be facing off against the winless Mahindra Enforcers (0-3).
