THE parents council of Saint Theresa’s College (STC) spearheaded the staging of the first-ever futsal tournament held in the school dubbed as the “STC Futsal Cup” at the school’s campus along Mango Avenue, this city yesterday.

According to the organizer, Mitzi Misa, a mother of one of the futsal players of STC, the parents council of STC came together to  make the tournament happen with the help of football tournament organizer Dino Musni.

“The parents of the futsal players here in STC really organized this tournament and it’s historic for STC because this is the first time that the sisters of the school allowed a tournament which invited outsiders to join,” said Misa.

“The sisters also noticed the achievements of our futsal team that’s why they were encouraged to join our plan of organizing a tournament.”

Around 14 teams competed in two age-groups which are the U-15 and U-18 categories.

The vaunted futsal team of Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) ruled the U-15 division by defeating San Roque Football Club, 3-2, in the championship match.
