Man saved after jumping off vessel at sea

An 18 yr old man from El Salvador, Misamis Oriental jumped off a passenger vessel named MV St. Pope John Paul II, which left Cebu for Manila at 12:30 p.m. today.

Commodore Enrico Evangelista of the Philippine Coast Guard Central Visayas said that they received the alarm at 2:15pm.

Evangelista said the teenager was high on drugs when the incident happened.

The teenager was later rescued at the vicinity of Bagacay Point at 3:15pm.

The vessel is operated by 2GO Shipping.
