Garbo sa Lapu holds street dancing, parade

HUNDREDS of Lapu-Lapu City residents were on hand to watch the 2015 Garbo sa Lapu-Lapu Festival civic street dancing, float, higante (Giant)  and showdown presentation at the Hoops Dome in Lapu-Lapu City yesterday.

Barangay Mactan won 1st place in the Pasahalad Category in the grand showdown, taking the P50,000 grand cash prize as well as the float category.

Second place went to barangay Canjulao which won P45,000, while third place went to barangay Basak (P40,000) and 4th and 5th places went to barangay Gun-ob and barangay Buaya respectively.

In the Street Dancing Category, barangay Gun-ob won the 1st place and P10,000 cash prize. Second place went to barangay Basak (P8,000) and barangay Mactan won third place (P5,000).

The Higante (Giant) Category was won by Olango Island Marine Sanctuary with second and third place going to barangay Bankal of Aviation Industries and barangay Pajo 1 respectively.

Trisha Ann Legaspi of barangay Canjulao was named  the 2015 Garbo sa Lapu-Lapu Festival Dance Queen.

The street dancing kicked off at S. Osmeña St. in barangay Poblacion.
