THE NLEX Road Warriors continued on their march towards the top of the leaderboard after they blasted the Jumbo Plastic Giants, 89-70, in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup during their marquee match-up yesterday at the Arena in San Juan City.
Garvo Lanete once again solidified his stature as the top amateur wingman in the nation as he tallied 27 points to lead the Road Warriors to their sixth win in seven games while sending the Giants to their third loss in 11 outings.
Ola Adeogun returned from a one-game suspension and chipped in 14 markers while helping hold Jumbo’s prolific big men, Jason Ballesteros and Jan Colina to a combined seven points.
In other games, the Hog’s Breath Café snapped its three-game losing streak with an 87-80 win over BDO-National University to tie Jumbo Plastic in the standings. The Blackwater Sports also registered a 102-81 win over Arellano-Air21 behind the 25 points of Jericho Cruz.
