Pantino falters in PSC net

CEBUANO junior netter Arthur Craig Pantino was unsuccessful in his bid to advance to the next round after losing to Indonesia’s Muhammad Althaf Dhaifullah, 6-2, 1-6, 4-6, in the second round of the PSC-Phinma International Junior Tennis Championships Week 2 yesterday at the Manila Polo Club in Makati City.

The 14-year-old tennis sensation had a strong start in the tournament, winning over Kairi Inque of Japan 6-3, 6-4, on Wednesday.

But he failed to sustain his momentum in the second round, resulting to the loss against Althaf Dhaifullah.

Also in boys action, Filipino netter Bryan Otico moved to the next round after whipping David Nguyen of the USA, 6-4, 7-5.

Otico and Dhaifullah will face each other for a spot in the semifinals.
