A businessman was charged in court for allegedly defrauding Liloan Municipal Mayor Vincent Franco “Duke” Frasco and his wife Christina.
The Cebu City Prosecutors’ Office filed a charge of qualified theft against Alexander Paul Bowler.
Bowler, chief executive officer and general manager of Strictly Politics Cafe Inc., allegedly issued checks amounting to P496,469, had it encashed, and used it for personal purposes.
The Frasco couple are shareholders of the corporation with Mayor Frasco as president and his wife as corporate secretary. They said Bowler, CEO of the company, handled day-to-day operations. He managed to transfer corporate funds to his personal account and was unable to present receipts and records for the amount he withdrewto show they were actually used for corporate expenses.
The Frascos sued for P9 million in damages.
