THE 2007 Flyboys racked up two wins over the weekend to claim a tie for the lead in the standings in Division 3 of the University of San Carlos North Alumni Basketball Conference Sinulog Homecoming Cup over at the USC North Campus gym along Mango Avenue.

The Flyboys first edged out the 2010 Pioneers, 58-57, as Nilton Otida and Nico Magat formed an awesome twosome with 17 and 15 points, respectively. They then dominated the 2005 Chameleons, 58-36, behind the commanding performance of the wide-bodied behemoth, Don Adlawan, to hike their win-loss record up to 4-1.

Not to be outdone, the defending champions 2011 Elevens also got their fourth win in a row with a 96-68 rout of the 2007 Waybus. Prince Malana and Anthony Romaguerra had 15 apiece while Arsenio Uy chipped in 14 in the one-sided affair. Both the Flyboys and the Elevens share the top spot at 4-1.

The Pioneers, though, wrapped up their busy weekend by bouncing back with two wins. They beat the 2014 Underdogs, 62-52, as Julius Asotigue had 27 markers while Mike Rita added 15. Then, they bested the 2004 Rebels, 71-64, with the same duo combining for 40 points. The Pioneers are now at 3-2.

In Division 2, the 1999ers remained in front of the pack with a 70-62 victory over the 1996 Chubbies, their sixth in seven games. The Sipat 98 are trailing close behind in second place as they defeated the Millennium 2000, 55-50, to push their card to 4-1. The Dos Mil Uno also got their third win in five matches with a 75-67 win over the 1994 Bulldogs.
