Cebuano team represents PH in Indonesia

CEBUANOS will man Team Philippines in the upcoming 4th Southeast Asia 5-Aside Unified Football Tournament to be held in Semarang, Java, Indonesia this Thursday.

The entire team is composed of Mandauehanons and will be coached by Rey Seno together with his assistant Charlotte Mendoza.

The team is aiming to qualify for the Special Olympics, which is for athletes with intellectual disabilities from all around the world.

The team’s players are Kent Digor, Johnrey Muñez, Arrel Pascual, James Perez and Ian San Sayson. They have three reserves Harris Segovia, Danniel Szwast and John Caryl Ybañez.

They will go up against teams from Singapore, host team Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam.

Leylam Football Club head coach Oliver Colina trained the team for months to prepare for this tournament.

The team is thankful for the support given to them by the Mandaue City government, which shouldered their financial needs for the competition.
