THE medical missions of Taiheiyo Cement Philippines Inc. (TCPI) has started the third round of bringing free medical, dental and optical services to the residents of San Fernando town, southern Cebu.

Taiheiyo’s health program has already served more than 1,000 patients in barangay Tonggo since it started in June 2006.

The mission, in partnership with Solid Earth Development Corp., returned recently to the same barangay for the third time, to serve 479 residents.

Mitzie Almira Carin, SEDC human resource manager, said during the recent Tonggo mission, 385 persons received free medical consultation; 77 availed of free optical services and free eyeglasses; and 17 received free dental services.

Tonggo barangay officials led by barangay captain Virgilio Siarot and Tonggo Elementary School teachers headed by Reynante Tatoy assisted the medical mission.
