Three Cebu City residents hit by stray bullets on New Year’s Eve

At least three Cebu City residents were hit by stray bullets during the New Year’s Eve celebration.

Jovelyn Pucot of sitio Kamansi in the mountain barangay of Mabini sustained a gunshot wound on her neck.

Pucot was brought to the North General Hospital for treatment.

Another victim, Mary Claire dela Lilan,  was hit by stray bullet while watching fireworks display outside of their residence in barangay Capitol Site.

Dela Lilan, 12, was hit on her left foot and was brought to the Don Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center for treatment.

Dela Lilan’s aunt, Leonor Escano,  said the girl was standing at their gate when she felt numbness on her left foot and saw it bleeding.

The third victim was identified as Janome Diaz of barangay Duljo Fatima.

Diaz, 22, was treated at the Cebu City Medical Center for a bullet wound on her leg.

Meanwhile, the front desk of Cebu Business Hotel reported to the police the discovery of a slug from one of their rooms.
