A case of baby theft has set off alarms in the government-run Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City.

Authorities are looking for a a woman who walked out of the hospital at noon today carrying a two-day-old baby.

The parents of baby Prince Niño Celadenia said they handed their son to a “nurse” dressed in all-white uniform.

But hospital management said the woman,who was caught on CCTV video footage with the baby in her arms, was not one of their staff.

The Cebu city police and National Bureau of Investigation have been called in to investigate.

The hospital management has offered a reward for information leading to the whereabouts of the missing baby and the kidnapper.

In October last year, two theft incidents were also reported in the hospital with the suspects arrested.

Joseph Rosario of Mandaue City was caught last October 28 after he took a woman’s cellphone which was plugged to a wall outlet at the ward of VSMMC.

Albert Tumagna was also arrested last October 15 after he tried to encash a stolen check in a bank.
