SMART, practical, and resourceful—these are Cebuano traits that OLX Philippines emphasizes in their Biliba! Campaign which was officially launched on January 7.
Biliba, which comes from the root word “bilib,” is a Cebuano expression of admiration over a job well done. It could reflect being smart, practical, resourceful, or a bit of all. And what other better way to educate the Cebuano market on the benefits of online buying and selling than to have it on Cebu’s most distinguished festivity—the Sinulog Festival.
Biliba! Campaign acknowledges the wins at life of Cebuanos dubbed as Bilib Moments in buying and selling second hand items using OLX. According to OLX Philippines Senior Marketing Manager for Cebu, Regina Aguilar, they want to feature “the joys in small practical solutions that create a big impact.”
True enough, the Cebuanos’ devotion to Sto. Niño as seen through the talents in elegant costumes and vibrant colors that have turned this ordinary festivity to one of the grandest event in the country is, after all, a biliba moment. In the aim to praise and celebrate the smart ways or diskarte of Cebuano consumers, the buy-and-sell website is happy to share the advantages and tips of online shopping and selling of second hand items through OLX should you visit their booth at the Fuente Osmeña. They also assist booth visitors in downloading the mobile application.
Aguilar encourages Cebuanos and tourists hailing from other
regions to drop by at their booth for some cool free Sinulog items and prizes. The booth is open until the Grand Parade Day on January 17. They will also be at the Osmeña Boulevard on the said date. Everybody who is anybody is very much welcome to check it out.
Last year, OLX Philippines experienced a tremendous reception from booth visitors who were handed free merchandise such as T-shirts, umbrellas, foldable fans, LED whistles, and many others.
This Sinulog Festival 2016, OLX gives away sunglasses, towels, and of course, the mardi gras emblem of colorful face paints and artistry of henna tattoos.
The official launching of the Biliba! Campaign was graced by four Cebuano personalities, OLX users-turned-brand ambassadors in a press conference at Quest
Hotel and Conference Center. TV hosts Blinky de Leon and Phoebe Kaye Fernandez bought their cars from OLX sellers at reasonable prices. Blinky was sold to the idea of the affordable tried-and-tested second hand car.
“A car is only brand new–for a day,” shared Blinky during the press conference. The model-turned-TV host also sells her pre-loved items on OLX.
Phoebe agreed on the significant amount of savings one can get from an OLX purchase.
Cebu’s lifestyle blogger Doyzkie Buenaviaje, a travel junkie, sold his old laptop to a satisfied customer which, in return, raised his travel fund.
Toni Pino-Oca, mother and fashion blogger, posted a used stroller and received a number of interested buyers. Toni earned extra cash and helped a mother like her to save money.
The shared experiences from these OLX Ambassadors displayed a common win-win solution when it comes to convenience and financial decisions.
OLX continues to push its Biliba Campaign featuring the Bilib Moments or the wins at life in using OLX in the week-long Sinulog celebration. This is the localized version of the national Naks, Naman! Campaign that rolled out last November.
During the press conference, Aguilar advised to arrange meet-ups when buying from an online seller. This should give the buyer a good examine of the product. It also pays to be curios and inquiring. It is imperative to note that there is no hundred percent scam-free website but, needless to say, OLX has reliable contacts in the authorities and will assist victims of fraudulent transactions in legal actions should the need arises.
