Cebuanos compete in D-League

A TOTAL of 14 Cebuano and Cesafi products are set to strut their stuff when the PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup kicks off tomorrow.

Of the nine teams that are competing, the Phoenix Accelerators boast of the most players who can trace their basketball roots here with Far Eastern University products Ron Dennison, formerly of the University of the Visayas, ex-University of Cebu cager Roger Pogoy, former Cebu Eastern College sentinel Raymar Jose and former University of San Carlos Baby Warrior Joel Lee Yu all seeing action.

The University of the Philippines-QR8/Jam Liner have the likes of Dave Moralde, former Cesafi juniors MVP Paul Desiderio, ex-RP Youth Team and Ateneo de Cebu ace Henry Asilum and ex-UC forward Alfred Batino while the Mindanao Aguilas have top-flight guard Joseph Nalos, an ace who once played for Southwestern University.

Caida Tiles, on the other hand, will parade Julius Pasculado while the reigning champions Café France will suit up veteran playmaker Jess Mar Villahermosa, a former three-point champion of the Cesafi.

BDO-National University will have former Ateneo de Cebu stars Adven Jess Diputado and Dave Wilson Yu on their squad.
