Suroy-Suroy Sugbo heads south

THE Suroy-Suroy Sugbo Southern Getaway Tour kicked off on Wednesday with around 90 guests.

Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale sent the guests off as they embarked on a three-day tour of various heritage sites, monuments, ancestral homes, churches, tourist spots, and other historical landmarks in southern Cebu.

The participants, on board three buses, visited the city of Carcar and the towns of Barili, Alegria, and Moalboal on the first day.

The tour can accommodate 200 guests but some of them cancelled for various reasons.

“It was unfortunate that some have to cancel but they have valid reasons,” Magpale said.

Magpale said the exclusion of Mainit Springs in Malabuyoc town from the tour was not a factor in the cancellation of bookings.

“The guests were already informed beforehand that Mainit Springs in Malabuyoc is not part of the itinerary this year,” she said.

Instead of Malabuyoc, the group will drop by Ginatilan to visit the San Pedro Calungsod church on the second day. They will then head to Samboan, Santander and Oslob.

The itinerary for the last day today includes the towns of Boljoon, Dalaguete, and Argao before going back to Carcar City. The last stop will be in Naga City.
