CLOSE to 5,000 kids, who were rehearsing for their first communion at the Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC), cheered and applauded when Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle and Argentinian juggler Paul Ponce and his family dropped by to visit.

Tagle, who arrived around noon, wished the children well for their first communion today then left. Then  Ponce and his family arrived and entertained the kids and their parents.
One child asked 9-year-old Pablo, the eldest,  how he learned to juggle.

“In Jesus, everything is possible,” Pablo replied.

Pablo asked the Cebuano kids if they were excited abou their first communion tomorrow.  “Yes!” they replied in unison.

Sister Ma. Corazon Talay, first communion coordinator, said 4,800 kids have pre-registered for the first communion  scheduled at 4 p.m. today as part of the 51st International Eucharistic Congress (IEC).

The minors came from the Dioceses of Pasig, Novaliches and Ilagan, Isabela in Luzon; Cebu, Dumaguete, Calbayog, Talibon and Biliran in the Visayas; and  Malaybalay, Bukidnon and Pagadian in Mindanao.
