THE LONG-SUFFERING Don Bosco Greywolves will be getting a much-needed shot in the arm with the arrival of multi-titled head coach Britt Reroma in their corner.

The Greywolves have been the laughingstock of the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) juniors division with a grand total of one win against 23 losses to show in the last three seasons of the league.

Reroma, who led the University of San Carlos (USC)Warriors to the seniors title last year, hopes to help change the culture at his alma mater as he confirmed that he will be handling the team’s training program alongside the team’s current head coach, former PBA player Danny Aying.

“I can’t say no to my alma mater. This is where my career first started and I owe a lot to this school,” said Reroma in an exclusive interview with Cebu Daily News. “It will be my basketball program that they will be using. I have met with the team and I’m hoping I can help turn things around here.”

Reroma started his basketball career with Don Bosco then continued on to San Beda, where he led the mighty Red Cubs to several championships in the NCAA before ending back with USC, which he steered to its first championship in 57 years last year.

Reroma clarified that his contract with USC ended late last year, thereby ending his tenure as coach of the college, juniors and grassroots basketball teams.

He said, though, he is not inclined to take the head coaching position at Don Bosco, seeing as he has a contract with the Sarawak Eagles in Malaysia.
