“SOMEDAY, all the underprivileged youth will be given a chance to be educated and have a second shot in life.”
This is the aim of a Japanese foundation named Waku Works during the ceremonial concrete pouring for Barangay Lorega’s new multi-purpose building.
The building worth P17 million is targeted to be completed by September this year.
“We chose barangay Lorega to be our beneficiary because we feel that after the fire that struck the barangay last year, they deserve a second shot in life,” said Wako Works founder Takako Yamada.
The three-story multi purpose building will provide skills training program and English classes to the youth. The trainings will be handled by Lorega Capitbahayan Association and partner schools such as the University of San Carlos.
Anyone can avail of the training but Yamada said they will prioritize those from barangay Lorega.
