Red Bull King of the Rock qualIfiers in Cebu on March 5

RED BULL is calling on Cebu’s best basketball players as the world’s most prestigious one-on-one street basketball tournament called Red Bull King of the Rock is coming to the Queen City of the South for a qualifying tournament on March 5 at the University of San Carlos North Campus gym.

Already on its sixth year, Red Bull is once again staging this elite competition that seeks to get the best “streetball” players from each corner of the world and pit them against one another in a winner-take-all tournament which will be set in Istanbul, Turkey.

Cebu will be hosting a qualifier for the first time with the winner advancing to the Philippine finals on March 19 in Manila.

Registration is ongoing until 2 p.m. of March 5. Interested parties can register at www.redbull.com.

Both Qualifiers and Finals will follow one-on-one street basketball rules in a single elimination tournament. Only two and three-pointers count in each five-minute game, while five fouls equal an automatic loss. The competition is open to amateurs and pros alike; however, players must be at least 16 years of age.
