Latino foes for PP35 fight card to arrive Cebu Feb. 23
The Latino boxers who will face off against ALA Boxing Gym’s rising boxing stars in the much awaited Pinoy Pride 35: Stars of the Future will be arriving in Cebu on Feb. 23.
Yesner “Cuajadita” Talavera (15-3-1,4KOs), the Nicaraguan boxer rated number 15 in the WBO’s super bantamweight division, will challenge “Prince” Albert Pagara (25-0,18KOs) for the WBO Intercontinental super bantamweight belt held by the latter in the main event of the fight card slated Feb. 27 at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.
Mexican boxer Eduardo “Fierita” Montoya (13-4-1,13KOs), on the other hand, will face unbeaten Boholano and IBF youth featherweight champion Mark “Magnifico” Magsayo (12-0,10KOs) for the WBO Youth Featherweight strap in the co-main event.
Also arriving on the same day is Tony Rodriguez (3-1, 1KO), another Mexican boxer who will be fighting unbeaten amateur standout Kevin Jake “Kj” Cataraja (2-0,2KOs) in the special attraction of the fight card.
The stacked up fight card also features Elmo “Bisdak” Traya facing Romeo Jakosalem of Davao City for an eight-round showdown in the 140-pound division.
Masbate City’s Jeo Santisima will fight Marco Demecillo of Iligan City in the 123-pound division while former IBF minimum weight world champion Florante “Little Pacquiao” Condes takes on Melvin Jerusalem in a 106-pound fight.
FIGHT OFFICIALS
International referee Danrex Tapdasan will be handling the main event while veteran Bruce Mctavish will handle the co-main event.
The three judges at ringside for the Pagara-Talavera showdown will be Cebuano WBO boxing judges Salven Lagumbay and Edward Ligas along with Greg Ortega.
The Magsayo-Montoya battle will be judged by Edgar Olalo, Samson Libres and Tony Pesons.
