THE CEC-E dribblers and CEC-B/PTT Roadstar chalked up contrasting victories last Thursday in the continuing action of the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association (Cecaba) 15th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup at the CEC Gym.
CEC-E came up with a close 53-49 win over Batch 1988/Dewfoam, while CEC-B had a walk in the park in beating Batch 2009, 72-56.
Cedric Chua scored, Ryan Maderazo and Bryan Labus donated 12 each in CEC-E’s second win in three outings.
The loss put Gregorio Aguilar’s double-double performance of 13 points and 12 rebounds as Batch ’88 stayed winless after three games.
Harry Villamor and Rey Kenneth Ng also scored 13 points apiece for Batch ’88.
CEC-B, on the other hand, tallied its second win in three outings behind Rex Allinson’s team-high 21 points. Philip Lua and Kent Uy chipped in 12 points each, while Joel Chan delivered 10 markers and 10 rebounds.
Batch 2009, which dropped to 1-1 (win-loss), was led by Harold James Tan, who finished with 13 points, 18 rebounds and two blocked shots.
Juan Carlos Suazo donated 10 points.
