CEC-C, Batch ‘98 log 1st wins in Cecaba hoop
CEC-C/ATS Aljhune Tinsmith /NST Rubbers and Batch 1998/Kaking finally broke into the win column after they downed their separate opponents last Saturday in the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association (Cecaba) 15th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup at the CEC Gym.
CEC-C snapped a two-game slide behind Mar Genesis Quisagan, who piled up 26 points, 13 rebounds, three steals and one assist.
Joseph Aljhune Areja scored 18 points, Robert Fabian netted 14 and Rodney Co produced 11 points in a balanced CEC scoring.
CEC-D, last year’s losing finalist, absorbed a second straight defeat and dropped to 1-2 (win-loss).
John Quilacio and Jim Paul Yankee topped CEC-D with 15 points each, Judd Veneracion added 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Gwynn Uy donated 11 markers.
Winning its first game after dropping its first two was Batch 1998, which routed Batch 2009, 69-48.
Eric So powered 1998 with his 25-point output. Paul So was equally productive after tallying 22 markers. Elvis Evangelista donated 12 points.
Harold James Tan collected 21 points for Batch 2009, which tasted its second defeat in three outings.
