Vice presidential candidate and Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV said he will focus his efforts on strengthening Cebu’s anti-illegal drug programs should he be elected to the second top post in the country.

During yesterday’s visit to Cebu, Trillanes said he considers the illegal drug problem in Cebu “very serious” and he wants the province to be the showcase for the government’s campaign against the drug menace.

Trillanes told the 200 students who gathered at the study hall of the University of Cebu (UC) main campus along Sanciangko Street, Cebu City yesterday that there should be a proactive information campaign in schools so students won’t have to experiment with drugs.

Trillanes said the development of what he considers the three engines of growth — agriculture, tourism, and BPO would help generate more jobs for the country.
Trillanes said he will do more campaign sorties in vote-rich Cebu province to boost his candidacy.
