BATCH 1995/New Millennium Hardware proved to be the steadier team, edging out CEC-A/ACY Shipping/Koi Herbal, 59-57, in a battle of unbeaten teams last Tuesday night in the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association (Cecaba) 15th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup at the CEC Gym.
Donald Anthony Ting and Dean Dy Teves connived forces to help Batch ’95 tighten its hold of the number one spot in the team standings with its fourth straight win.
Ting finished with 18 points, while Dy Teves piled up 12 markers, 13 rebounds and two blocked shots.
Juan Carlo Espada scored 14 points, while Gino Abella finished with 13 for CEC-A, which tasted its first defeat in three games.
In the other game, Batch 1988/Dewfoam finally barged into the win column as it put Batch 2000 to sleep, 51-45.
Rey Kenneth Ng powered Batch ’88 with 15 points and was backed by Gregorio Aguilar, who scattered 13 markers.
It was Batch ’88’s first win after three failed attempts.
