MAX Steinbach and reigning MVP Neil Buot combined for 32 points to lift the Panthers to an impressive victory over the Bulldogs, 71-65, in the sixth week of the Elite Basketball Club – Sinulog Cup last Friday at the Visayas Glass Gym in barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City.
The Bulldogs, who were led by Jairus Concepcion with 20 markers, gave the Panthers a tough fight and even led at the end of the third quarter, 39-37.
But the Panthers proved the steadier team in the fourth period en route to tallying their fourth win in six games.
Steinbach wound up with 18 points, while Buot scattered 14 markers.
In the other game, Johnrey Salapa finished with 28 points as the Seahawks trounced the Wolverines, 87-79.
The Wolverines were led by Lorenzo Bacaltos’ 30 points.
